National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP) The National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP) ensures that accurate records are available for use in law enforcement, including sex offender registry requirements, and to protect public safety and national security. Funding is directly provided to Ohio to improve the quality, timeliness and immediate accessibility of criminal history and related records. In addition, technical assistance is provided to the states through an ongoing program incorporating surveys, evaluations, and national forums. The assistance promotes participation in:
